Frequently Asked Questions
about Grace Baptist Church
Do you have a nursery available?
We have a team of volunteers that love to work with children. Our nursery is open to children ages birth through three years old during all church services. Once you arrive at the church, one of our greeters will be happy to direct you to the nursery which is located just across the hallway from the Main Auditorium.
What is Sunday School?
Sunday School is a time for people of all ages to grow in the Lord and in Bible knowledge. We have classes available for everyone; Sunday School is not just for children. The boys and girls have separate classes divided by age group through age twelve. Our teens are divided into two groups, and we have two Adult Bible Classes: the Proven Paths Bible Class taught by Pastor Shannon Foote, and the Wycliffe-Tyndale Bible Class taught by Deacon Alan Holley.
What should I wear?
You should wear clothing that allows you to feel comfortable. You will notice when you arrive that most of our church ladies will be wearing Sunday dresses and most of the men will be dressed in a suit or a shirt and tie; however, we do not have a “dress-code” for any of our members.
How long are the services?
At Grace Baptist Church your time is valued. We do not have a set time to dismiss each service; however, services will generally last an hour to an hour and a half on Sundays and Wednesdays. We do our best to dismiss by 8:15pm for services held Sunday through Thursday evenings.
What time should I arrive?
Generally arriving 10 minutes before the start of the service will allow sufficient time to find seating. Be sure to add a few extra minutes to your arrival time if you will need to escort your children to the nursery or Sunday School classes. That being said, please come early and get to know some of the wonderful people who attend the church.
Will I be singled out as a guest?
As a first time visitor, you will be given a visitor card by one of our greeters as you make your way into the building. During the offering you will be given the opportunity to place the visitor card in the offering plate. This will give us an opportunity to get to know you better, and to properly thank you for attending one or our services. At the close of the service Pastor Shannon and our First Lady, Mrs. Alli will stand near the exit to present a gift and personally thank all of our guests each week.
Does the church provide counseling?
We do offer Bible based advice on a limited basis. Pastor Shannon and his staff will take the time to help you through whatever difficulty that may arise in your life. All Scriptural counseling is done by appointment, there is no charge, and it based upon the King James Bible.
What kind of music do you have?
Our main goal is to honor the Lord in all we do. Our concept for music is no different; you will find our music to be uplifting, spiritual, and biblical. We want to use music to prepare our hearts and spirits to receive the message that God has for us in each and every service.
I hope that you have found the answer you were looking for. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call us or send an email. God bless you.
